Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our team. A Veterinary Technician Assistant will be considered with a minimum of 1-year experience. Compensation is based on experience and education.

The Veterinary Technician helps maintain excellent patient care and supports the Veterinarian to achieve efficiency in daily practice, facilitating communication from the operating room to front desk and clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 18 years of age at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians: prep patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals.
• Obtain samples: gather stool, blood, and other samples.
• Testing: test samples and help interpret results.
• Administer medications: give prescribed meds, anesthesia, vaccines.
• Client communication: gather medical information and provide care instructions.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
