Job summary

Small Door is a veterinary care provider offering membership-based, high-standard services including 24/7 telemedicine. We seek a Licensed Veterinary Technician to triage, assess patients, assist doctors, and maintain a compassionate, stress-free environment in our NYC area clinics.

The role requires at least 1+ year of LVT experience in a GP setting, comfort with computers, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekend availability and a proactive, client-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs.
• A thoughtful and fearless team player.

• Skilled at communicating with clients.

Responsibilities

• Triaging
• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood
• Placing catheters
• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs
• Running in-house labs
• Preparing medications
• Administering medications
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment
