Small Door Veterinary in New York City seeks an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our caring, nurse-led team. You will triage patients, recognize emergencies, record vitals, assist doctors, and help with in-house labs and treatments in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs.
• A thoughtful and fearless team player.
• A go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled at communicating with clients.
• Passionate about pets.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients.
• Recognizing medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assessing patients and recording vitals.
• Assisting doctors with diagnostics and procedures.
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Providing basic nursing care and husbandry.
• Monitoring patients and offering compassionate care.
• Assisting with radiography and lab work.
• Preparing and administering medications.
• Maintaining a hospitable environment.
