Job summary

Small Door is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our Manhattan-based GP team. You’ll triage and assist doctors, record vitals, perform treatments, and contribute to a stress-free, Fear Free environment.

The role requires 1+ year LVT experience, weekend availability, comfort with computers, and a patient, team-focused approach. We offer competitive pay, health/dental/vision insurance, a 401K with 4% match, generous PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.

Responsibilities

• Triaging
• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood
• Placing catheters
• Assisting in radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs
• Running in-house labs
• Preparing medications
• Administering medications
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment
