Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Technician Assistants with at least 1 year of experience to join our team. The VT assists veterinarians, restrains animals, and communicates with clients to support high-quality patient care.

A day in the life includes preparing patients for surgery, handling anesthesia and lab work, and ensuring efficient operations in a busy practice. Compensation is based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely and properly.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs to waist height.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying and reaching.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians - prep patients for surgery, monitor post-op, restrain animals during exams.
• Obtain samples - collect stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
• Testing - help test samples and interpret results.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the DVM.
