Job summary

CityVet is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team, supporting veterinarians to maintain high-quality patient care and efficient daily practice. This role focuses on prep, anesthesia assistance, sample collection, and client communication, ensuring smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum 3 years of veterinary industry experience, the ability to restrain animals safely, and strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• At least 3 years of veterinary industry experience; essential for this role.
• Ability to safely restrain animals.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; physical stamina.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery and monitoring post-op care.
• Greet clients, explain procedures, and provide care instructions.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood, etc.) for testing and discuss results.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and anesthesia as directed by the DVM.
• Support front office with patient flow and daily operations.
