Job summary

CityVet is looking for Veterinary Technicians to join our team. A Veterinary Technician Assistant will be considered (with a minimum of 1-year experience). The VT helps maintain excellent patient care and supports the Veterinarian to improve efficiency in daily practice.

A day in the life includes assisting veterinarians, restraining animals, obtaining samples, testing and administering medications, and communicating with clients about care plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift 50 lbs to waist height.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians by preparing patients for surgery and monitoring post-op.
• Obtain samples (stool, blood, etc.) for tests.
• Perform tests and help interpret results.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the DVM.
• Communicate with clients about care plans.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed.
