Job summary

Pima Medical Institute's Phoenix campus invites a licensed Veterinarian (DVM/VMD) to join as a Veterinary Technology Educator and Attending Veterinarian. The role blends classroom instruction with hands-on clinical supervision, offering a balanced schedule and a competitive hourly rate.

You'll oversee patient care, manage the campus animal facility, and guide students through lectures and clinical skills while maintaining compliance with AVMA, AZVMEB, and related standards.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD from AVMA-accredited institution
• Active AZ license to practice and ability to obtain/maintain DEA registration
• Minimum of three years of practical veterinary experience including basic surgical and medical procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and surgical care for program animals under a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR)
• Oversee animal care facility operations and compliance with relevant standards
• Serve as the program's managing veterinarian under the state license and oversee controlled substance inventory
• Maintain complete medical records per AZVMEB, AVMA CVTEA, USDA and ABHES standards
• Deliver lectures and labs; assess student competencies and performance
• Coordinate guest speakers or clinical field trips and manage academic administration
