Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to join our Seattle campus as a Substitute Instructor on a PRN, as-needed basis. The role involves delivering lectures, guiding labs, and assessing student skills while regular faculty are away.

The position offers flexible morning/evening shifts, on-site work, and opportunities to mentor future veterinary professionals within a structured AVMA CVTEA curriculum.

Qualifications

• Active LVT credential or DVM in WA required.
• Minimum of three years of practical veterinary clinical experience.
• Associate degree AVMA CVTEA-accredited or DVM degree from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and lead labs following the AVMA CVTEA curriculum.
• Monitor and verify student competency during practicals.
• Demonstrate and operate standard veterinary equipment and tools.
• Ensure safety standards for animal handling, lifting and restraint.
• Record attendance, track progress, and coordinate with program leadership.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain course records and transcripts.
• Engage students to sustain 80%+ module completion rates.
