Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to serve as a Substitute Instructor at our East Valley campus. This part-time, on-site role requires an AVMA CVTEA-accredited degree, active LVT status, and a minimum of 3 years hands-on veterinary experience.

The substitute instructor will deliver lectures, supervise labs, track attendance, and help students meet safety and competency standards while maintaining clinical ties.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an AVMA CVTEA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
• Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) status or other required Arizona state designation.
• Minimum 3 years of practical, hands‑on experience in the veterinary field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and hands‑on lab demonstrations aligned with the established curriculum.
• Monitor laboratory competencies and use standardized checklists to confirm student skill levels.
• Track student attendance and report as required.
• Support student success through encouragement and targeted intervention.
• Record grades and ensure the classroom and lab environment meet all safety standards.
