Job summary

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to join our fast-paced specialty surgery team in Maine. You’ll connect clients, patients, and our surgical service, guiding cases from consultation through recovery and discharge.

In this role you’ll coordinate consultations, communicate treatment plans and post-op instructions, prepare records and medications, and act as a key liaison between clients and the surgical team.

Qualifications

Veterinary experience required; surgical or specialty experience preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Compassionate, client-focused, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Coordinate surgical consultations, procedures, and scheduling.
Communicate with clients about treatment plans, estimates, medications, and post-op care.
Prepare discharge instructions, medications, and medical records.
Serve as a key liaison between clients and the surgical team.
Provide exceptional support and guidance throughout the patient journey.
