Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a Shift Lead to provide leadership across paraprofessional staff and assist veterinarians. The role balances clinical support with operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent client service.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating schedules, maintaining medical records, and supporting ongoing client education under Banfield protocols. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Two years experience (healthcare, veterinary profession, service-type industry, etc.) required, with six months experience at Banfield preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead paraprofessional staff and coordinate hospital productivity.
• Promote client care and ensure smooth flow of patients in a busy hospital.
• Assist with surgeries as applicable.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client documentation.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of treatment areas and equipment.
