Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Shift Lead to provide leadership across shifts, supervise paraprofessional staff, and support hospital leadership to maximize productivity and client service. You will coordinate duties, recruit new clients, manage patient flow, and ensure compliant care within state practice acts.

The role emphasizes leadership responsibilities, collaboration with Practice Manager and COS, and maintaining quality care while guiding the veterinary team toward operational

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Two years experience (healthcare, veterinary profession, service-type industry, etc.) required, with six months experience at Banfield preferred.
• Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical, etc.) with medical terminology training preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team.
• Provide leadership and supervision of paraprofessional staff on all shifts.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, associates, field leadership, and central team support.
• Ensure hospital productivity and adherence to practice standards and protocols
• Lead by example to ensure high-quality care and client service
