Job summary

Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital in Kirkwood, MO seeks a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. You will balance administrative precision with warmth across a broad range of interactions, including emotionally sensitive moments.

The role requires at least 1 year at a veterinary front desk, familiarity with Cornerstone, and a strong foundation in veterinary terminology, scheduling, and payments. A team-based, compassionate environment awaits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist or similar front desk role.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software; Cornerstone preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficiency in scheduling, phone management, records handling and payments.
• Proven customer-service skills with high-volume client relations.
• Strong verbal and written communication and active listening.
• Comfort handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, confirm appointment details.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, assist with scheduling and requests.
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups.
• Communicate medical information compassionately, including in euthanasia discussions.
• Maintain EMR and data entry in the PIMS system.
• Coordinate with veterinarians, techs, and staff to relay messages and manage patient flow.
• Maintain reception area and waiting room cleanliness and organization.
