Job summary

Whitesburg Animal Hospital in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Hospital Manager to lead the hospital support team, partner with the Veterinarian, and drive efficient operations and profitability while delivering high‑quality patient care and client service.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, vendor management, and compliance with licensing and safety standards; a Bachelor’s degree and office management experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Five years of direct office management experience with supervisory duties.
• Ability to provide courteous, prompt customer service.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and office software.
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff across hospital support departments and meets labor goals.
• Hires and trains office and clinic support staff and handles paperwork.
• Orients and trains new staff on hospital operations.
• Reviews performance and delivers feedback; discusses with Regional Manager weekly.
• Conducts timely performance appraisals.
• Manages documents, reports accidents, and files reports.
• Writes policies for hospital technical aspects and seeks approvals.
• Coordinates schedules and DVM with clinical leadership.
• Monitors overtime and labor efficiency; manages daily operations.
• Ensures compliance with administrative responsibilities and budgets.
• Manages inventory, equipment purchases, and facility maintenance.
• Handles vendor invoices, contracts, and local vendor relations.
• Addresses owner concerns and resolves issues as appropriate.
• Reviews revenue and labor metrics with leadership; hits goals.
• Oversees local accounting and ensures accurate financial data.
• Maintains licensure for DVMs and regulatory compliance.
