Job summary

Pet Services of Washington, P.S. seeks a Hospital Manager to lead client service and operations. The role partners with Regional Management and Medical Director to ensure excellent patient care and client service while guiding staff and hospital growth.

The successful candidate will bring HR and marketing experience, financial acumen, and a patient‑centered approach. A strong leader who fosters teamwork and efficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of customer service and budget management experience.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team members.
• Professional demeanor with friendly, positive attitude, and client/pet respect.
• Able to handle multiple tasks amid changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop the veterinary, technical and administrative staff toward quality patient care and excellent client service; assist in formulating objectives and policies for efficient, profitable operations.
• Oversee hiring, performance reviews, disciplining, and termination of staff with Regional Management approval.
• Review monthly P&L and partner with Hospital Medical Director to increase revenue and control costs; coordinate with home office on annual budget.
• Model an 'owner' mentality and support staff to ensure smooth hospital operation.
• Minimize patient stress; refer to specialists when prognosis improves.
• Maintain client/patient medical records and logs; assist with follow-up and management of cases.
• Supervise administration and case review of client medical complaints.
• Represent the hospital and VCA positively in professional communities and to the public.
