Job summary

Compassion Animal Hospital in Virginia is seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support our 3-doctor practice. This role may be full-time or part-time, with full-time typically 35–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of customer service experience preferred.
• Veterinary or medical experience is a plus.
• Comfortable with computers and learning practice management software.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and pets with warmth and professionalism
• Create a smooth, calm flow from check-in to checkout
• Answer phones confidently and guide clients to appropriate level of care
• Educate clients on preventive care, services, and products that support their pets’ health
• Schedule appointments thoughtfully to support both clients and medical team productivity
• Accurately document patient information in our practice software
• Process invoices, payments, and daily cash reconciliation with precision
• Dispense prescriptions and retail items per veterinarian instructions
• Handle client concerns with empathy, composure, and problem-solving skills
• Collaborate closely with doctors and technicians to ensure clear communication and efficient care
