Caring Hands Merrifield is seeking a dedicated veterinary receptionist to join our team as a friendly front-desk ambassador. You will welcome clients and patients, manage check-ins and appointment details, and coordinate with the veterinary staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

We emphasize composure under pressure, compassionate customer service, and a willingness to learn veterinary workflows and terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of front desk, receptionist, or customer service experience in medical/dental/veterinary settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, and conflict resolution.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, multi-line phones, data entry, and POS payments.
• Organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to learn new software and workflows.
• Reliable, punctual, professional; able to work independently and in a team.
• Genuine affinity for animals and comfort in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients at the front desk, collect intake information, and confirm appointment details.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, directing calls and inquiries about scheduling and services.
• Perform client check-out, including payment processing and scheduling future appointments.
• Provide composed, compassionate customer service to clients facing anxiety or difficult health news for their pet.
• Accurate data entry and organized records in the practice management system, following onboarding.
• Communicate with clinical staff to relay messages, flag urgent situations, and support daily operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area.
