Job summary

Caring Hands Merrifield is seeking a dedicated, client-focused veterinary receptionist to join our team. This role welcomes candidates from related fields who can remain composed under pressure while delivering compassionate customer service to pet owners.

You will greet clients, manage phone lines, process payments, and coordinate appointments in a supportive environment with onboarding and training. Salary ranges from $17 to $23 per hour, with full-time benefits and schedule Monday– Friday

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of front desk or customer service in medical/veterinary settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication and conflict resolution.
• Experience with appointments, multi-line phones, data entry, and payments/POS.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients at the front desk and confirm appointment details.
• Answer a multi-line phone system and direct calls for scheduling and services.
• Process client check-out and payments and schedule future appointments.
• Provide compassionate service to clients dealing with anxious or distressed pets.
• Maintain accurate data entry and organized records in the practice system.
• Communicate with clinical staff to relay messages and flag urgent situations.
• Keep reception and waiting area clean and welcoming.
