The University of Missouri’s Veterinary Health Center seeks a Small Animal Front Desk Staff member to greet clients, manage calls, and coordinate appointments in a busy clinical setting.

This full-time role supports veterinarians, technicians, and students, handling scheduling, registration, and patient information with professionalism and empathy. The position requires calmness under pressure and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of customer service and/or clerical experience is required.
• Ability to operate a personal computer is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding, professional customer service at the Veterinary Health Center front desk; answer and route phone calls; manage in-person foot traffic and greet clients.
• Receive emergency cases and page trauma and emergency personnel.
• Utilize clinic record keeping systems to register and admit patients; confirm/update information; schedule appointments; verify symptoms and medical issues for appropriate service.
• Work closely with veterinarians, students, technicians and staff to ensure adherence to processes and procedures; provide training to new students, faculty and staff as needed.
• Navigate stressful client encounters with a positive and professional demeanor.
• Maintain a professional and inviting reception space and environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
