Abqpetcarehospital in Bel Aire, Kansas is seeking veterinary externs to join their team. This position offers a unique opportunity for veterinary students in their clinical education to gain hands-on experience in a busy animal hospital, managing cases with guidance from seasoned veterinarians.

Externs will engage in a variety of tasks, including gathering patient histories and assisting in surgical procedures, all while being eligible for a travel and living expense stipend. A comprehensive benefits program will also be available, including medical and vision coverage.

Job description

Heartland Animal Hospital has been serving the Wichita area since 2000. We are a busy practice with five doctors, ranging from seasoned vets with over 25 years of experience to new grads. We mostly take care of dogs and cats but occasionally see pocket pets. Externs here will stay on their toes and get to see plenty of interesting cases.

Eligibility & Stipend

Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
