An externship experience at an National Veterinary Associates (NVA) hospital will give veterinary students the unique opportunity to understand day-to-day operations of the practice and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Every NVA hospital is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.
Externship experience ranges from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate.
Travel/living expense stipend amount for Great Rivers Animal Hospital is $1,500.
