Job description

Clarke Animal Hospital is a busy 4 DVM practice that keeps things interesting each day. We do surgery 4 days a week and our DVMs love to use diagnostics and dig into our sick patient visits. Our location makes us extra special for activities outside of work, we are just minutes away from the shore of Lake Michigan and all of the outdoor activities that people love to enjoy!

Externship Responsibilities

• Gathering patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Creating treatment plans
• Diagnostics
• Dental services
• Observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients

In addition, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship Details

Duration ranges from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships are only offered to students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.

Students in the final clinical year are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
