Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle in Lynnwood, WA seeks an Emergency Referral Coordinator to support the Emergency and Critical Care Departments. The role involves liaising with clients, coordinating case flow, and assisting doctors with diagnostics and discharge processes.

The position requires empathy, strong communication, and veterinary field experience. The role reports to the Client Service Manager and involves a Thursday–Sunday schedule with some flexibility, in a 24-hour hospital

Qualifications

• Experience in the veterinary field for two or more years.
• Know the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats.
• Ability to follow OSHA standards and hospital policies.
• Know standard medical and business abbreviations.
• Demonstrate empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day coordination and flow of the Emergency and Critical Care Departments.
• Act as liaison between departments and clients to keep them informed.
• Provide communication and support to doctors to improve case flow.
• Create and submit diagnostic requests for doctors and monitor test results.
• Handle discharge instructions, medications, and client communications.
