The Emergency Referral Coordinator role at Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle in Lynnwood, WA, is a full-time position. Responsibilities include obtaining diagnostic results, preparing discharge instructions, coordinating with shelters, and assisting with financial discussions.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in the veterinary field.
• Know the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats.
• Ability to follow OSHA standards and hospital policies.
• Know standard medical and business abbreviations.
• Demonstrate empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day flow of the Emergency and Critical Care Departments to improve case efficiency.
• Act as liaison between departments and clients, communicating updates and discharge info.
• Create and submit diagnostic requests for doctors; monitor diagnostic tab in Ezyvet.
• Verify and/or witness client statements regarding procedures and euthanasia.
• Cross-check charges for procedures to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Discharge planning: ensure meds are filled, items packed, and instructions reviewed.
