Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Doctor Assistant to support our DVM team and help keep patient care moving efficiently throughout the day. This role blends administrative coordination with hands-on veterinary support, serving as a central liaison among DVMs, clients, CSRs, and the clinical team.

You will prioritize schedules, manage task lists, and help reduce administrative burden while maintaining veterinary care standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant role, with client service experience preferred.
• California Veterinary Assistant VACSP permit preferred.
• Fear Free Certification or willingness to become certified.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing DVM schedules and prioritizing the day’s workflow.
• Monitoring doctor task lists, communications, and outstanding patient needs.
• Coordinating client callbacks, follow-up, and communication with the veterinary team.
• Providing client education and home care instructions to clients.
• Preparing same-day treatment estimates and supporting timely client communication.
• Auditing medical records for completeness and up-to-date documentation.
• Coordinating communication between DVMs, CSRs, and the clinical team.
• Tracking outstanding tasks and ensuring completion or proper handoff.
• Providing hands-on Veterinary Assistant support when needed.
• Helping DVMs and clinical team stay organized and focused on patient care.
