Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners is seeking an experienced Doctor Assistant to support our DVM team and keep patient care moving efficiently throughout the day. This on-site role centers on organizing communication, prioritizing tasks, and reducing administrative burden for up to three doctors per shift.

You will review schedules, coordinate callbacks, educate clients, and assist with exams and outpatient procedures when needed. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as veterinary assistant or equivalent.
• California VACSP permit preferred.
• Fear Free certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and patient care.
• Excellent communication with DVMs, clients, CSRs, and the clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing DVM schedules and prioritizing daily workflow.
• Monitor doctor task lists and patient needs.
• Coordinate client callbacks and follow-up with the veterinary team.
• Educate clients and explain home care instructions.
• Prepare same-day treatment estimates and support timely communication.
• Audit medical records for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate communication between DVMs, CSRs, and the clinical team.
• Track outstanding tasks and ensure completion or handoff.
• Provide hands-on veterinary assistant support when needed.
