Job summary

MissionVet Specialty & Emergency in San Antonio, TX is seeking a compassionate Client Service Representative for the closing shift to join our urgent care and specialty team. The CSR greets clients, schedules appointments, maintains records, processes payments, and communicates clearly with families and referring veterinarians.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in a veterinary or medical setting, excellent communication, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least two years of recent experience in a veterinary or medical environment.
• Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of general office practices, receptionist duties, and telephone techniques.
• Experience using multi-line phone systems and handling cash and other forms of payment.
• Experience maintaining patient records and entering information accurately.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks independently and efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
• Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
• Preferred: Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures and general computer skills.
• Ability to submit to drug screening, as we are a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming experience for clients, patients, and referring veterinarians.
• Answer and direct phone calls while providing compassionate and accurate information.
• Schedule appointments across multiple specialty services and emergency departments.
• Educate clients and referring veterinarians about hospital services and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update client information promptly.
• Process payments and assist with financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, referring veterinarians, and hospital staff.
• Remain calm and collected during emergency situations and periods of high activity.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with clients experiencing stressful situations.
• Handle multiple tasks and interruptions while maintaining excellent customer service.
