Job summary

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Chandler, Arizona is seeking a receptionist to join a fast-paced team providing top-notch client and patient care. The role involves scheduling, check-in/out, dispensing prescriptions per vet instructions, and coordinating appointments while using Avimark for client records.

Strong customer service, veterinary terminology knowledge, and calm multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
• Experience with Avimark is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking – Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment and ability to manage stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Check In and Check out Clients.
• Dispense Prescription items per Vet instructions.
• Schedule appointments.
• Phone skills to make calls and assist with scheduling.
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
• Use Avimark to add documentation and update client records.
• Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
• Demonstrate empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
