Job summary

Ocotillo Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Chandler, AZ is seeking a friendly receptionist to support a busy veterinary practice. The role involves checking clients in/out, handling prescription items per veterinarian instructions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining client records using Avimark.

The candidate should bring veterinary terminology knowledge, strong communication, and a calm, organized multitasking ability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
• Experience with Avimark is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction.
• Possession of organizational skills.
• Critical thinking – identify strengths/weaknesses of solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, good judgment under stress.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: 4 days a week, 9.5 hour shifts.
• Check In and Check out Clients.
• Dispense prescription items per Vet instructions.
• Schedule appointments.
• Phone skills to make calls and assist with scheduling.
• Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
• Use Avimark to add documentation and update client records.
• Maintain a positive attitude with clients, pets and teammates.
• Demonstrate empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
