Job summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Client Service Representative focused on the in-person client experience. You will greet clients, collect and enter patient information, answer a multi-line phone system, and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth visits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or associate degree and 2–4 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong verbal communication with coworkers, doctors, students, and clients.
• Ability to stay calm during emergencies and show compassion.
• Multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to priorities.
• Work well in a diverse team with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills; learn electronic medical record systems (ezyVet) and other software.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and visitors, gather/enter information, answer a multi-line phone system, and notify staff of arrivals.
• Review the current day schedule; assist students and staff with client questions; explain CUHA policies.
• Facilitate visits and act as liaison between clients and staff for smooth visits.
• Prepare/audit invoices, process payments/refunds, and post deposits for hospitalized patients.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer and monitor cash controls.
• Verify post-discharge home instructions are emailed to clients and refer veterinarians.
• Cross-train in Admission and Discharge as needed to meet client service needs.
