Job summary

United Veterinary Care partner Standiford Veterinary Center in Modesto, CA seeks a Client Service Representative for day shift to manage front desk duties. You will greet clients, schedule appointments, process payments, and educate on wellness plans and products in the waiting room.

This role emphasizes empathy, accuracy, and teamwork in a busy veterinary setting, with opportunities to learn Veterinary Assistant skills and grow within the profession.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in veterinary practice (or human medical practice) preferred.
• Minimum two years’ customer service experience required (retail, food and beverage, etc.).
• Computer experience (email usage, word/excel) and proficiency required in front desk equipment (such as, fax machine, credit card machine, copy machine, and postage meter).
• Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits, make change, and process payments utilizing credit card and check terminal.
• Preferred general understanding of veterinary terminology and ability to communicate these situations with clients and veterinary team.
• Able to triage to determine emergency vs routine visits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in person and over the phone.
• Schedule and confirm appointments; record-keeping and organization; provide estimates and invoices for payment.
• Respond with compassion and empathy in stressful situations.
• Maintain a clean, stocked lobby and front office area.
• Educate clients on wellness plans, pet insurance, and products sold in the waiting room.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, end of day reports and deposits.
• Data entry: records, client questionnaires, referral information.
• Ensure referral letters and lab results reach the veterinarians.
• Admit patients with current weights and information.
• Opportunity to learn Veterinary Assistant skills if desired.
