Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospitals is seeking a Shift Lead to perform the duties of a CSC and/or veterinary assistant, while providing leadership across shifts. You will support Practice Manager and COS, coordinate paraprofessional staff, and ensure excellent client and patient care, balancing clinical tasks with leadership responsibilities.

The role emphasizes teamwork, efficient workflow, and adherence to hospital protocols. Weekend/evening availability may be required; prior Banfield experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years experience (healthcare, veterinary profession, service-type industry) required, with six months experience at Banfield preferred.
• Associate’s degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of a CSC and/or veterinary assistant/technician, which may include the following: assist with surgeries as applicable and support the veterinary team.
• Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and guiding client flow for superior care and productivity.
• Coordinate paraprofessional staff across shifts and ensure effective communication with hospital leadership.
• Assist Practice Manager in scheduling, training, and day-to-day supervision to maximize productivity and client satisfaction.
