Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Oregon is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care for companion animals. You will educate clients on preventive care, help maintain accurate medical records, and ensure a safe, clean hospital environment.

You will assist with procedures, monitor hospitalized or surgical patients as allowed by state regulations, and mentor other paraprofessionals while upholding the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. culture.

Qualifications

• NAVTA approved veterinary assistant programs completion or enrollment required.
• Must be able to perform required NAVTA veterinary assistant duties as per guidelines.
• Age 18+ to perform radiography (x-ray) duties per state rules.
• At least 2 years of experience working with animals preferred or demonstrated capability.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients on preventive care and hospital services.
• Maintain accurate medical charts and records.
• Assist with procedures and monitor hospitalized/surgical patients as permitted by state rules.
• Mentor other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
