Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians while ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and staff. You will help maintain patient flow and uphold hospital standards for clean and safe treatment areas, labs, and exam rooms.

You will educate clients on preventive care plans, support pet wellness initiatives, and mentor fellow team members to maintain high-quality care at all times.

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards for pet safety and cleanliness.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other hospital team members.
