Job summary

Banfield Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring pet safety and the continuity of quality care. You will work under NAVTA guidelines, educate clients on preventive care, and mentor other team members.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient flow, coordinating with vets and techs, and performing procedures that do not require direct vet or tech involvement, while upholding hospital standards.

Qualifications

• The NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients in the hospital.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs.
• Carry out or set up procedures not requiring vet or tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
