Vetcor’s Tustana Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant/Kennel team member. The role is full-time with hourly pay of $19.00–$22.00 and 32–40 hours per week. You’ll work closely with veterinarians and technicians to assist with medical care, patient monitoring, and front-desk tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary hospital, animal care, or kennel experience is required.
• Comfort safely handling and restraining dogs, cats, and other companion animals.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• A compassionate approach to patient care.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and jump in wherever the team needs support.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and restrain animals during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and medical treatments.
• Support clinical procedures, including medication administration, catheter placement, IV support, and surgical assistance.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly communicate concerns to the medical team.
• Record accurate patient information and treatment notes in medical records.
• Assist with feeding, grooming, and general animal husbandry.
• Maintain a clean, organized hospital environment and front-desk support as needed.
• Answer client questions with friendly, professional service.

What Our Veterinary Assistants / Kennel Team Members Do

What You’ll Bring

Experience with veterinary terminology, anatomy, animal behavior, medication administration, catheter placement, surgical assistance, medical recordkeeping, or veterinary hospital software is a plus. Experience working with multiple species, including equine or other large animals, is also welcomed but not required.
