Job summary

Park Animal Hospital & Wellness Center in Denver, CO is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, three-doctor practice. This full-time role features a 4-day workweek with rotating Saturdays and pay in the $20–$22 per hour range.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary assistant or animal-care experience preferred.
  • Safe and compassionate patient-handling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and hospital operations.
  • Assist with patient handling and restraint during examinations and procedures.
  • Gather patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient care.
  • Assist with diagnostic sample collection and lab procedures as needed.
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient prep and recovery.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and teammates.
  • Keep exam rooms and spaces clean and well stocked.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain efficient workflow and excellent experiences.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
  • Support veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and daily hospital operations
  • Assist with patient handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Gather patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces for patient care
  • Assist with diagnostic sample collection and laboratory procedures based on experience
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery
  • Help monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
  • Assist with medications, treatments, and other patient‑care tasks as directed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates
  • Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces clean, organized, and well stocked
  • Collaborate with the entire hospital team to maintain an efficient workflow and exceptional patient experience
