Job summary

Park Animal Hospital & Wellness Center is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, three-doctor team. We provide exceptional patient care and outstanding client service in a supportive environment where teamwork and growth are valued.

You will assist veterinarians, handle patients, gather histories, prepare treatment and surgical spaces, and help monitor hospitalized animals. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary assistant or animal-care experience preferred.
  • Safe and compassionate patient-handling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and daily hospital operations.
  • Assist with patient handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Gather patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
  • Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces for patient care.
  • Assist with diagnostic sample collection and laboratory procedures based on experience.
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including patient preparation and recovery.
  • Help monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team.
  • Assist with medications, treatments, and other patient-care tasks as directed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and teammates.
  • Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and hospital spaces clean, organized, and well stocked.

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
