Job summary

We Care Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The role offers a 9 AM-5 PM schedule with rotating Saturdays from 7 AM-Noon; no nights, on-call shifts, or holiday hours.

• Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection.
• Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs, chemistry panels, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal testing.
• Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care.
• Educate clients regarding medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support an efficient daily workflow.
