VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital in Los Angeles is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency teams. You will work alongside general practitioners, specialists, and skilled staff to provide exemplary patient care 24/7/365, including anesthesia monitoring and full technician support.

The role offers a full-time schedule with weekend rotation and opportunities to grow within a large veterinary community with extensive benefits and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting in veterinary anesthesia and patient monitoring.
• Ability to collect patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Familiarity with radiology safety and basic lab skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor anesthesia during procedures.
• Utilize full technician skills in daily tasks.
• Take histories and perform physical exams.
• Perform venipuncture and establish IV access.
• Support team across hospital services.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.

Veterinary Assistant Duties Include

• Anesthesia monitoring
• Full Technician Skill Utilization
• Collecting patient histories & physical exams
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients

Potential Schedule

Full Time, weekend rotation required, day and swing shifts open

Compensation

$17 - $25 / hr based on experience, skill set, and licensure status.
