VCA Knowles Snapper Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a talented Veterinary Assistant to join our ER team full time. Opportunities exist in General, Primary, and Emergency/Critical Care with flexible day or night shifts.

We are a 24/7 hospital with a supportive team of veterinarians and technicians. Applicants should have 2–3 years of veterinary experience and a proactive work ethic; self-motivation and quick thinking are valued in this fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years veterinary experience preferred.
• Experience as veterinary assistant or technician is a plus.
• Willingness to grow skills in emergency and primary care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for all patients.
• Record histories and assist in exams.
• Collaborate with hospital services and staff.
• Educate clients and communicate treatment plans.
• Triage patients as needed.
• Fully utilize technician/assistant skills.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Handle patient samples properly.
• Operate and monitor diagnostic labs.
• Advance toward hands-free radiology safety.

VCA Knowles Snapper Creek Animal Hospital

is seeking a talented and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our ER team full time.

We have opportunities available in General and Primary care, as well as Emergency and Critical Care and offer flexible work hours, day or night!

Are you looking to take your patient care and expertise to the next level? Are you an experienced veterinary technician or assistant wanting to expand your knowledge and skillset while working with a variety of cases?

We are a 24/7 Emergency & Primary Care hospital staffed with an amazing team of compassionate and experienced veterinarians, highly skilled technicians/ assistants and an awesome team of well-trained support staff. Applicants must have a positive attitude and excellent work ethic with 2-3 years of veterinary experience preferred. Must be self-motivated and able to think on your feet.

Veterinary Assistant Duties

• Providing compassionate care for ALL patients
• Collecting patient histories & assisting in thorough physical exams
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Client communication and education
• Ability to properly triage patients
• Full Technician/ Assistant Skill Utilization
• Venipuncture / IV Catheter placement
• Proper Patient Sample handling
• Run Diagnostic Lab Machines
• Advancing towards FULL Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)

Potential Schedule

Full Time Swing, and Weekend shifts available

Compensation

$19.50 – $24.00 / hour is based on skill set, and experience.
