What our Veterinary Assistants Do

Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
Provide compassionate, high-quality care from patient intake through discharge
Safely handle and restrain patients while prioritizing comfort and safety
Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection based on experience and training
Obtain high-quality radiographs and maintain imaging standards
Utilize Fear Free® and low-stress handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety
Obtain thorough patient histories and communicate relevant information to the medical team
Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence regarding patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive healthcare
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and treatment documentation
Keep treatment and exam areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patients
Follow hospital infection-control and safety protocols
Collaborate with doctors and teammates to keep the hospital running smoothly

What You'll Bring
