Job summary

Cold Springs Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician. The role focuses on assisting veterinarians, monitoring anesthesia, and maintaining patient care with a collaborative team.

You will work a four-day schedule with no nights, on-call, or holiday hours, while eligible for training, tuition support, and generous benefits. This opportunity supports professional growth in a positive hospital culture.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary technician experience required.
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred.
  • Passion for animal health and client education.
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with veterinary software and basic computer skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate medical records and high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, dental procedures, and medical treatments.
  • Safely restrain and handle patients using compassionate, low-stress techniques.
  • Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, surgical recovery, and hospitalized patients.
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
  • Collect laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostics, and assist with diagnostic imaging.
  • Assist with emergency triage, stabilization, CPR, and critical patient care.
  • Prepare patients, surgical suites, and equipment while maintaining strict sterilization protocols.
  • Fill prescriptions under veterinarian supervision.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, medications, nutrition, and home-care instructions.
  • Provide compassionate discharge instructions and client education.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with inventory and daily hospital operations.
  • Keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
