Job summary
Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support veterinary anatomic pathology research. You will assist with experiments, data collection, and analysis, and contribute to publications while helping run daily lab operations.
The role is onsite in Ithaca, NY, full-time for one year with potential extension. Visa sponsorship is not available, and travel is not required.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in biology or related field and up to 2 years relevant experience in a research lab.
- Experience or training in molecular biology techniques including qPCR, Western blots, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization.
- Experience with mammalian tissue culture and ability to learn new lab software/systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments using qPCR, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, and microscopy.
- Support research projects with data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Manage lab operations: supplies, equipment, reagents, inventory, and safety procedures.
- Train and support lab personnel; maintain accurate records and contribute to publications.
