Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our hospital team. You will provide hands-on anesthesia care for companion animals, horses, and farm animals in a fast-paced academic teaching environment, collaborating with faculty clinicians while supporting the training of veterinary students, interns, and residents.

This onsite role in Ithaca, NY requires the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and university holidays to meet patient

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Veterinary Technology and at least 1 year of experience or equivalent combination.
• NYS licensure or eligible to be licensed.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the team while managing multiple cases with high attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Ability to cultivate inclusive and equitable working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as a veterinary anesthesia technician under anesthesia faculty.
• Anesthetize, monitor, and recover companion, equine, and farm animal patients and manage equipment.
• Orient and instruct veterinary students, interns, residents, and house staff in anesthesia techniques.
• Manage anesthesia operations, case scheduling, records, and drug inventory; support for clinical research; flexible on-call or weekend shifts.
