Job summary

Cornell University’s Animal Health Diagnostic Center (AHDC) seeks two Medical Technologist Assistants to support the Anatomic Pathology Laboratory. The role includes tissue trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and assisting pathologists, trainees, and researchers with high-quality lab services.

Onsite in Ithaca, NY, the position is full-time with a three-year term and potential extension. Candidates should have an associate degree in a science-related field and be able to work

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a science-related field with up to two years of relevant experience.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods.
• Proficient microtome operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histopathology, including trimming, processing, embedding, and sectioning.
• Prepare routine histology stains such as H&E and histochemical stains.
• Operate and troubleshoot histology equipment; support quality practices.
• Provide direct support to pathologists, residents, students, staff, and researchers.
