Job summary

Southern Utah University seeks a Veterans Non-Clinical Case Manager (VNCCM) to lead non-clinical case management and enhance retention and completion for military-connected students. You will work with the Director of Student Outreach & Support and the Veterans Resource and Support Center to coordinate resources and interventions.

The role involves collaboration across campus to address transitions, health and wellness indicators, and to connect students with campus, VA, and community services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• One to two years of experience in higher education, student support services, retention initiatives, case management, or a related field.
• Self-motivation and prioritization to independently plan and execute tasks under deadlines.
• Ability to represent the Office to senior university leaders, current/prospective students, families and community stakeholders.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Crisis management: maintain composure under pressure and support students in crisis or transition.
• Ability to research, interpret, and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Strong computer skills, including data entry, record management, reporting and admin databases.

Responsibilities

• Case Management Support: Coordinate non-clinical case management for academic, wellness, mental health, behavioral, transition and crisis-related concerns for military-connected students.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with the Student Outreach & Support and Veterans Resource team to assess needs and develop intervention and success plans.
• Transition & Engagement Support: Develop tailored transition plans and provide resource connections to support enrollment, persistence, and completion.
• Early Alert Intervention: Assist in fulfilling the Early Alerts process and provide timely support for students facing academic or wellness barriers.
• Data & Records Management: Monitor and analyze data related to student concerns and retention, maintain records and generate reports; stay informed on VA education benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
