Zusammenfassung

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a dedicated SSVF Housing Case Manager to help Veterans experiencing homelessness achieve housing stability. You will build relationships with landlords, provide advocacy and connect clients with legal aid as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in social work or related field (or equivalent experience), strong communication, organization, and trauma-informed, culturally inclusive service delivery.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; or five years of experience; or a Veteran with three years of related work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assess family needs, access local resources, advocate, counsel, and work cooperatively with local service providers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, high organization, and creative problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Build partnerships with community partners, service providers, and government agencies to address housing opportunities for people of color experiencing homelessness.
• Advocate for Veterans and liaise with landlords, rental agencies, and housing providers.
• Explain HUD-VASH and Section 8 programs and develop individualized housing plans with participants.
• Develop housing search plans, budgets, and goals; coordinate referrals to supportive services.
