Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York in Bronx, NY seeks a Financial Assistant/Case Manager to ensure entitlements clearance at intake and maintain veterans’ benefits for eligibility. The role supports the SSVF program and handles TFA documentation and disbursement in collaboration with the business office.

You will work with veterans, program managers, and landlords to ensure timely assistance and compliance with VA benefits requirements, contributing to housing stability and homelessness

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 credits in Human Services required.
• Demonstrated effective communication and proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit Temporary Financial Assistance packages for veterans for approval.
• Maintain and update the TFA log.
• Deliver and pick up TFA checks to landlords and vendors.
• Coordinate with program managers and offices to ensure timely disbursement of funds.
